Electrical Design Engineer

If yes, Belcan has the role for you as we are now looking to recruit Electrical Design Engineers, who will be able to apply electrical engineering knowledge and design expertise to generate electrical design solutions for both new products and technological insertions into legacy products. You will be capable of generating detailed designs from concept to completion and addressing a range of engineering issues.
The role has a strong focus on engineering delivery and quality, and you will be able to balance the technical responsibilities inherent within the role and working with the end client.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Ideally be degree qualified with a minimum of 3 years' electrical design experience in a marine or offshore environment.
- Proficient in the use 2D/3D CAD, excel, Mathcad and electrical packages (Foran or NX preferred)
- Highly capable communicator.
- Knowledge of marine power or propulsion systems, automation, navigation, and communication equipment.
- Knowledge of AC/DC motor control systems and three phase supply
- Understanding of cable segregation, noise requirements and electrical testing.
- A knowledge of overall electrical system design basics of circuit design / understanding of diagnostics to be able to understand down to component level.
- Have a knowledge of Communication protocols.
- Previous experience with combat active vessels/equipment would be advantageous.
- Experience of C++ programming would be advantageous
For this role you must be eligible to obtain UK security clearance.
