ECCS Specialist Inspector - Electrical, Control & Cyber Security

Contract: Permanent, Full-time

Role Overview

  • Inspect major hazard installations to ensure compliance with safety laws.
  • Assess technical safety reports and identify risk gaps.
  • Investigate incidents involving industrial control systems.
  • Provide expert advice on functional safety and cyber security.
  • Act as an expert witness in legal proceedings when required.
  • Influence industry standards and contribute to national safety improvements.

What we're looking for

We need experienced engineers who can combine technical expertise with strong communication and decision-making skills. You'll be confident in influencing at all levels and passionate about improving safety standards.

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience in a technical engineering role.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills.
  • Ability to produce clear technical reports and present complex information.
  • Experience in major hazard or COMAH environments.
  • Full UK driving licence (or alternative arrangements for disabilities).
  • Relevant degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Control Engineering.
  • Chartered status (or eligibility) with IET or equivalent.
  • Proven experience with process control and safety instrumented systems.
  • Knowledge of electrical equipment in explosive atmospheres and relevant standards (e.g., BS EN 61511, BS EN 60079).
