Belcan Workforce Solutions is recruiting for an Asbestos Asset Manager to join a major estates transformation programme. This is a high-impact role focused on ensuring buildings across a large national estate are safe, compliant, and future-ready. The Asbestos Asset Manager will act as the subject matter expert for asbestos management, leading compliance efforts and collaborating with contractors and consultants to maintain high safety standards.
As an Asbestos Asset Manager, you'll be responsible for maintaining asbestos registers, conducting risk assessments, and supporting strategic planning and policy development. This role is 60% office/site-based across regional hubs including Sheffield, Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham, Newcastle, Blackpool, and Glasgow. The position has been deemed as inside IR35.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead asbestos management across the estate, ensuring legal compliance and safety
- Maintain and update asbestos registers, surveys, and risk assessments
- Provide technical advice and oversee corrective actions
- Collaborate with consultants and contractors to ensure performance and compliance
- Support audits, investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Contribute to asset data analysis and strategic planning
Essential Requirements:
- BOHS P402 & P405 (or equivalent)
- NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate
- Extensive experience managing asbestos across large estates
- Strong knowledge of asbestos legislation and compliance
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills
Desirable:
- BOHS P403/404
- HNC/HND or Degree in Engineering or Building Services
- NEBOSH Diploma
- Chartered Membership (e.g., IMechE, CIBSE)
