Senior Electrical Designer - Water Sector
Location: Manchester (Hybrid: 2-3 days on-site, typically Tuesday-Thursday)
Employment: Long Term Contract, 40 hours per week

About the Role
Our Client is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical, Control & Instrumentation (EC&I) Designer to join their established team working across multiple water sector frameworks.
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly competent designer to contribute to essential UK infrastructure projects, delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality design solutions.
The ideal candidate will bring strong technical knowledge, extensive engineering experience, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Delivering safe, practical, and cost‑effective design solutions in line with professional and internal standards.
- Producing and reviewing a range of drawing-office deliverables such as:
- Single Line Diagrams (SLDs)
- I/O & Cable Schedules
- P&IDs
- Material Take-Offs (MTOs)
- Block Cable Diagrams (BCDs)
- Schematics
- Equipment and cable routing layouts
- Checking drawings and ensuring compliance with company procedures.
- Coordinating with other engineering disciplines as required.
Qualifications
- ONC / OND / HNC / HND or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline.
Technical Experience
- Over 10 years of relevant engineering experience within the water sector or similar environments.
- Strong understanding of design working practices and installation requirements.
- Proficiency in CAD software.
- Solid knowledge of LV electrical design.
- Familiarity with UK legislation, standards, and regulatory requirements.
An IR35 assessment for tax purposes is required for this engagement. In order to determine the Limited Company's correct IR35 status, an individual Limited Company assessment will be required.
