Senior Scaffold Design Engineer

Our Client an Engineering company are seeking an Senior Scaffold Design Engineer or Temporary Works Coordinator for permanent position in Aberdeen /Warrington location. This role is placed within Construction, Oil & Gas, Nuclear, Energy, Utilities, Chemicals, Petrochemicals or highly regulated industry.

About the Role

As an experienced Senior Scaffold Design Engineer you will be responsible for scaffold design engineering services for all offshore and onshore sites. This will include the design of complex and large scale access scaffolds, temporary roofs, habitats and load bearing structures.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a Senior Scaffold Design Engineer, you will be responsible for consulting with clients and site teams to understand, resolve, and design complex structural scaffold requirements. You will produce detailed design drawings, calculations, and technical guidance in line with British and European standards, ensuring safe and efficient scaffold construction.

Your role includes conducting regular site surveys on both onshore and offshore installations, followed by comprehensive reporting. You will actively promote the scaffold design service and innovative solutions across the wider group, while fostering strong working relationships with clients and operational teams.

Scaffold Design Engineer or Temporary Works coordinator will additionally support the development and implementation of scaffold design work packs, including estimating, risk assessments, and design verification.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Previous role in Scaffold Design or Temporary Works with minimum 5 years experience.
  • HNC (or above) in Structural/Civil/Mechanical Engineering
  • Proficient user of AutoCAD software and understanding of structural mechanics
  • Scaffolding background, Industrial scaffold experience, 3D CAD modelling experience(Desirable)
  • Knowledge and experience of structural analysis software(Desirable)
  • BOSIET, MIST, Medical - Desirable
