Quality Engineer

Stevenage

Belcan workforce solutions is looking for a Quality Engineer, this opportunity is important to the client's growth strategy of providing high quality engineering and project services to their clients. The role is on a Permanent basis based at their site in Stevenage, UK.

The Quality Engineer will be responsible for ensuring projects requirements meet client quality standards, required to minimise quality costs and maximise customer satisfaction ensuring processes and procedures are adhered.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for identifying and raising quality issues and resolving them to ensure zero impact to the client. Develop and implement best practices that emphasise on defect prevention, reduction in variation and provide continuous improvements in meeting client requirements. Manage the customer specific requirements, offer technical support, and be responsible for multiple projects, which requires innovative original solutions.

As part of this job opportunity, you will liaise with operational engineering and procurement about material and product specification, and should be able to support the delivery of the project audit programme, investigations and remedial actions for quality failures.

Manage quality-related issues within the project (e.g. internal, supplier, customer) and Identify root cause and instigate permanent corrective actions for quality issues. Carry out project and process auditing and ensure control plans and associated documentation are implemented effectively and maintained. Monitor and report quality-related key performance indicators

Write Inspection & Test procedures, and Project Quality Plans.Assist with training of quality awareness, project approvals and promote the use of customer-preferred techniques for continuous improvement such as Six-Sigma, Poka-Yoke (Error Proofing), and Measurement System Analysis.

Manage supplier problem solving on time, cost recovery and supplier warranty indicators, Quality audits and Contribute to continuous improvement activities. Write reports and present progress at Quality meetings. Comply with the Health, Safety and Environmental Policies

Qualifications & Experience

As a Quality Engineer, you should have Strong knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA).Knowledge of Medical/Pharma and ISO9000, Lean Manufacturing. Understanding of engineering drawings and manufacturing processes, ISO14001 and Health and Safety practices. Ability to work in a diverse and dynamic environment, Planning and prioritising activities.

Analytical skills

Relevant business/commercial or manufacturing/engineering degree preferred, or ONC, A Levels, BTec Diploma Level 4 or equivalent NVQ level 4 qualification. Membership of the CQI.
