Belcan Workforce Solutions are looking for Project Planning Engineer for our client a leading engineering and maintenance provider, supporting customers across the chemical & petrochemical, nuclear, oil & gas, pharmaceuticals & biopharma, power & energy, utilities, renewables and food & beverage markets. We enhance the efficiency of assets, ensuring a high level of availability and reducing maintenance costs. We have extensive experience in offshore and onshore facilities; specialising in asset management services throughout all life cycle phases from consulting, engineering, manufacturing, assembly, operations, maintenance, and decommissioning.

Reporting directly to the Project Manager, the Project Planning Engineer will support the Project Manager and Water Bid Team with respect to scheduling of water projects during the delivery phase and all aspects of Water Proposal Planning, Execution and Writing including collating information, accurate scheduling, planning, template models and proposal writing using engineering and industry experience.

Providing overall project planning to maximise allocation and utilisation of both human resources and equipment to effectively support meeting customer requirements to time and budget.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manages all aspects of planning under their control using industry knowledge and experience to accurately plan and cost proposals for water clients
  • Plans and prepares project schedules for human resource and equipment requirements: Draws up master overall project schedule to establish the lead time of each project requirement(s) to meet clients' start and end dates based on client work packs/orders
  • Issue standardised plans and comprehensive schedules in various formats and detail to suit different users or audiences
  • Identifies critical path for delivery and suggested milestones
  • Analyse validity of schedules submitted by outside parties contributing to the project
  • Monitor actual job progress, compare to baseline and report progress against schedule
  • Analyse and report productivity and trends
  • Forecast the impacts on the schedule of proposed changes
  • Archive actual schedule achievements for estimating future similar projects
  • Develop and update the project master schedule to include all stakeholder requirements and interfaces
  • Be actively involved in the detailed review, analysis and monitoring of Specialist Subcontractors
  • Work closely on a day to day basis with the Project teams to monitor and/or amend the programme of work
  • Responsible (with the Project Manager) to interrogate and reviewing the contractor's and programme submissions and updating the project master schedule
  • Report on progress and to all requests from Project Manager and Bid Team
  • Liaise with Stakeholders and Project Manage regarding scope and planning requirements
  • Develop project schedules at the proposal stage to allow project costs to be estimated based upon industry experience
  • Assist in the generation of water-related proposal documents based upon developed project schedules
  • Promotes good standard of workmanship and quality control
  • Monitor and report progress against planned costs against budget during project execution
  • Provide technical support to Project Manager and Bid Team
  • Contribute to the proposal documents
  • Ensure competency requirements are communicated to the Project Manager for recruitment needs

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Previous experience in the Water Industry having completed a similar role
  • Knowledge of EICA and SCADA Commissioning
  • Experience in Project Delivery
  • Knowledge of ICA
  • Knowledge of MSP
  • Good communication skills, highly personable, assertive when needed
  • Good Organisational skills and can work on own initiative
  • Computer Literate - all MS Office Software, high attention to detail
  • High level of discretion and confidentiality
  • Confidence
