Mechanical Project Engineer

Belcan are very pleased to announce that we are bringing on a Mechanical Engineer, Design and Project focussed, to be based in our Cheltenham office for the purpose of managing both small and large projects to successful completion - from full Industrial control installations, through to complex electro-mechanical systems, automatic test equipment (including test fixtures), hydraulic and pneumatic controls. Ideally, the person we bring on board will have previous experience in managing projects within Mechanical Engineering with the ability to make sure the design is carried out effectively and accurately.

What you should expect day to day:

Your day to day will involve the development of quotes, project plans and budgets, as well as managing the customers technical and commercial requirements and issues.

As to be expected in a role such as this, there would of course be design work and the management of the Engineering process through the toll gate system.

Other key responsibilities:

The planning, estimation and writing of quotes, identifying customers' needs. Doing the designing of Mechanical structures and Hydraulic & pneumatic circuits (preferably AutoCAD 2D and Solid Works 3D Modelling). You will lead the design review meetings as well as manage and plan the resources on each project.

Whilst you will identify technical and commercial risks and the escalation to management, where required, you would also assist in the preparation of quality control, testing and manufacturing planning documents.

Skills you will require:
Mechanical engineering skills, the ability to design mechanical parts and assemblies from first principles for CAD design and to understand both Electronic and Electrical systems.
You will be able to produce drawings and document sets for complex systems. Also, to estimate effectively and accurately on engineering projects and have a good knowledge of Hydraulic and
pneumatic controls.
