Position: Mechanical Design Engineer
Location: Castle Donington - Hybrid
Contract: Outside IR35
Type: Full-Time
The Role
This is an outside IR25 assignment expected to last between 6 - 12 months with the successful contractor involved in the design of a range of fabrications and components used in turbomachinery applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create detailed 3D models and assemblies using Siemens NX.
- Generate engineering drawings
- Perform engineering design calculations eg Perform tolerance stack-up analysis , bolted joint.
- Preparation of engineering design reports
- Engage with suppliers and lead design for manufacturing activities
- Ensure designs meet industry standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements.
Required qualifications and experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- Experience designing castings, machined parts and fabrications.
- Experience using BS8888 and/or ASME Y14.5
- Proficiency in NX software.
- Strong skills in mechanical calculations.
- Experience designing turbomachinery components such as casings, piping and structures is essential.
- Experience using Teamcenter, or similar PLM systems.
- Good communication skills with the ability to work in a small team as a self-starter
