Lead Piping Engineer

Location: Hull

Belcan has a job opportunity to work with our client, an engineering company based in Hull location for permanent role.

The Role & Responsibilities:

  • As a lead piping engineer you will lead the Piping Engineering activities within single or multi-discipline engineering, EPCM or EPC projects for the chemical and petrochemical industry.
  • You will support procurement team in translating detailed design packages into procurement packages.
  • Interface between the fabrication facility, construction site and client Engineering team.
  • Liaise with client engineering team to develop packages of work.
  • Lead Piping engineer shall undertake technical bid evaluations.
  • Work with suppliers to develop technical queries to the client.
  • Work with site teams to undertake delivery.
  • For a short initial period, the role will be office based in Warrington to produce technical scope of works for pipework packages. Following this, the role will be based at a fabrication facility and construction site in Yorkshire.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Senior or Lead Engineer, in multi-discipline projects, in an Engineering / EPCM / EPC company, in relevant sector(s)
  • Good knowledge of project engineering and site interfaces
  • HND / BSc / BEng / MSc in Mechanical Engineering
  • You are able to lead on multiple packages of work.
  • Result oriented, you will take personal accountability for results and monitor performance against project delivery objectives and UK/European Standards & Regulations
  • Able to collaborate successfully with others in pursuit of business goals, adapting quickly to different styles and roles, and encouraging others to contribute to their full potential
  • Able to identify any impact to the project delivery objectives and apply change management accordingly
  • Strive to continuous improvement, generating new ideas for improving performance
  • You are a champion for safety and can author and approve RAMS
