Duration: 18- 24 months

A chance to join a leader in the innovation and industrialization of energy storage technology. We are seeking a talented and motivated Lead Process Engineer to contribute to the new product development and industrialization of products in Coventry.

Position Overview:

As a Lead Process Engineer your responsibilities will include supporting production activities of pilot and R&D manufacturing lines, improving manufacturing equipment and methods, and driving innovation in techniques to reduce costs, enhance sustainability, and establish best practices. Due to the nature of the role, this position will be based fully on-site in Coventry. The applicant must be able to commute to site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Industrialisation of new Equipment. Modification and continuous improvement of existing equipment; ensuring manufacturing processes remain technology relevant.
  • Understand, create, and standardise process philosophy and relevant documentation across business.
  • Ability to understand multiple highly skilled processes across the business and own all relevant documents.
  • Project Management, management of Stakeholder Expectation and Technical Reporting.
  • Customer Facing - direct and indirect. Guiding, steering, and challenging expectation.
  • Hands-on approach to working. Directly supporting Plant, Operational and Quality Teams with practical and theoretical guidance and instruction.
  • Work independently and prioritise daily activities with minimal instruction.
  • Generate and Maintain documentation - Control Plans, PFMEAs, SWIs, Manufacturing Bill of Materials, Stage Drawings.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A minimum of 5-8 years' relevant experience within a Manufacturing/Process Engineering.
  • Time Served (HNC/HND) or Degree in Mechanical / Chemical / Manufacturing Engineering desired.
  • Candidates also considered currently working in an Engineering Role without stated qualifications if experience demonstrated.
  • Preferred industry experience: Automotive/ Defence/ Pharmaceuticals/ Medical/ Precision Tooling/ Aviation.
  • Excellent understanding of Manufacturing/Process Engineering fundamentals.
  • Experience in a volume manufacturing environment, preferably in a similar industry.
  • Flexibility to split role between shop floor and office environments, and changes in daily pace.
  • A strong interest in energy storage technology and open to moving into a brand-new industry
