Profile:
Belcan are looking for an Electrical Engineer who will carry out a variety of tasks associated with desing and development including:- circuits, 3D harness packaging and 2D drawings, both Installation and harness manufacturing.
Detailed task responsibilities
- Design of the electrical circuits using Zuken E3 tool set, including schematics and harness nail board / form board drawings.
- Produce 2D layout drawings and assembly drawings.
- Compile Bills of Materials (BOMs) for the designs.
- Electrical understanding covering fusing and electrical protection strategy to circuit designs.
- Taking supplier datasheets and integrating components into existing vehicles designs.
- Prepare and deliver clear, effective technical information to the customer.
- Where required design components, brackets and harness management devices to suit the installation considering value and weight.
- Carry out concept design studies and present outcome for review.
- Translating circuit diagrams into 3D CAD models, including positioning equipment and routing harnesses.
- Obtain and implement specifications accurately and effectively.
- Involved in FMEA.
Principle Responsibilities:
- Customer
- Interacts with customer technical focal points as required
- Be able to interact well with both internal and external stakeholders and communicate technical issues; propose solutions for features which do not meet the requirements etc.
- Supporting team leader to define approach, timescales and hours associated with tasks

Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Mechanical Engineering Degree (or similar)
- Understanding of Electrical Circuit Diagrams and Schematics - E3
- Good understand of Harness Design using a 3D tool set
- Knowledge of J1939 Controller Area Network - mainly at physical layer.
- Understand of harness manufacturing and assembly process.
- Understanding vehicle manufacturing and assembly processes.
- Understanding of Design for Manufacture.
- Good understand of Solid Edge
