The Position

We are seeking an experienced Control & Instrumentation Project Engineer with a suitable technical background to work out of our client's site 5 days per week near Rochester, Kent. The site is a COMAH LNG storage plant supplying 40% of the UK's gas supply. The C&I Project Engineer will work as an owners' engineer for our client in their technical development team, supporting the CAP25 Expansion Project. The role will project manage the technical realisation of C&I technical solutions including managing resources and deliverables and will provide vital support to the Project Delivery Manager to ensure the effective administration of multiple project work scopes. The role brings oversight to the coordination of all stages of the projects, to ensure efficient delivery.

Key responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the development of pre-contract scope, specification and programme
  • Understand contractual requirements and communicate to team
  • Act as focal point for technical issues and coordination between GLNG, contractors and subcontractors for area of responsibility
  • Maintain the action items list
  • Management / resolution of Management of Change program (MOC)
  • Coordinate purchase requisitions
  • Monitor suppliers' compliance with purchase order conditions
  • Facilitate communication between discipline functions
  • Monitor quality of design for all aspects of the works
  • Actively manage the work hour budget for their area of responsibility
  • Support the subcontract plan
  • Manage GLNG team staffing levels
  • Actively support safety, quality, schedule and cost objectives
  • Actively support constructability program and communicate constructability issues to discipline engineers
  • Assist with project close-out

Qualifications, Skills & Experience


  • Minimum 5 years' experience within Control & Instrumentation
  • Minimum 2 years' within Oil & Gas, LNG, Petrochemicals, Cryogenic Pipeline, Process or Gas Compression
  • Experience on Top Tier COMAH sites
  • Experience within project management or a similar role
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple project requirements simultaneously
  • Ability to perform unsupervised on own initiative and as part of a team
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Technical qualification to HND or Degree level (e.g. Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering)


  • Basic experience of Mechanical and Electrical engineering disciplines
  • Project Management qualification
  • Experienced in working to CDM regulations
