Welding Engineer (Technical Authority)

Location: Warrington

Belcan workforce solutions is looking for a Welding Engineer (Technical Authority).

This opportunity is vital to our client's growth strategy of providing high quality engineering and project services to their end user clients. The role is on a Permanent basis based at client site in Warrington.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Welding Engineer position shall be the Technical Authority and this shall incorporate both onshore and offshore work sectors.

As a Welding Engineer, you will be responsible for development of WPQR & WPS documentation including third party approval. Provide Welding technical advice to all client work sites undertaking welding/fabrication work scopes.

You will be main point of contact with certification bodies for all related welding activities, support on-site Welding Inspectors for all technical requests. You will be the appointed responsible Welding Co-ordinator (RWC) under standards such as EN1090 and EN3834 requirements.

Provide and maintain all welding and qualification registers, Document owner for all welding and fabrication procedures within the BMS system. Responsible for welder qualification including the welder prolongation process for all client work sites. Support site implementation of digital welding software (ESAB WeldCloud Notes System)

Assist the client QC Lead with development and implementation of Inspection and test plans (ITP's) for welding work scopes. Perform Welding TA audits in accordance with the BUK audit schedule.

Interpret quality requirements specified in customer and external documentation/contracts regarding mechanical scopes of work.

Provide support and coaching to ensure compliance to all mechanical codes, regulations and adoption of best practice work methods are applied and should provide specific commercial bid / ITT support for mechanical, welding and fabrication works. Communicate specific shared learning and produce quality documentation and presentations in support of mechanical sector requirements.

The salary for this will reflect the scope and significance of the client in their sector and has the added flexibility for a working pattern.
