The Opportunity
Belcan Workforce Solutions are working exclusively with one of the world's largest manufacturers of aerostructures in the search for a Tooling Engineer based at Prestwick Airport. You will be working in a state-of-the-art facility overlooking the runway.
This hybrid role offers the opportunity to work across a number of projects with an exciting and varied workload, encompassing a wide range of tooling design tasks.
Roles & Responsibilities
As Tooling Engineer, you will be using CATIA V5 to model and draw ancillary tooling such as drill media, assembly tooling, and mould tools. You will be receiving engineering assistance requests from suppliers, analysing the problem, and providing a suitable set of next steps to resolve the situation; and checking tooling designs from third party suppliers to ensure that designs meet manufacturing process requirements and conform to our clients' tooling procedures.
You will also be carrying out remote audits of suppliers to our clients' tooling procedures which could include requesting tool design datasets, manufacturing records, and recertification data and ensuring that all requirements are adhered to.
The Ideal Candidate
You must have experience in tooling with an understanding of various scenarios such as detail part manufacture through to higher level assembly and be experienced with CATIA V5 with the ability to create fully detailed 2D drawings to a high standard. Additionally, the ability to work independently and research specifications and procedures is critical.
Successful applicants will be required to be security screened and obtain a Basic disclosure certificate on appointment.
