Job description

  • Reporting to the Engineering Project Manager you are responsible for the testing and commissioning coordination within the gas portfolio or project for all FEED and detailed designs within multi-discipline engineering, EPCM or EPC projects for the Gas Transmission and Distribution sectors
  • These projects will range from Concept Design (BP135G) to Execution Design (T/PM/G/35) and (GD/PM/G/17)
  • The projects will be for specific to the Gas Transmission sector predominantly for the UK compressor station infrastructure
  • You are responsible to manage and complete the Construction Support, Inspection, Testing, Commissioning and Handover within budget and planning. This includes change control and consistency of the disciplines and projects within the framework
  • You are responsible for the quality of the implementation of testing and commissioning against current client standards and specifications
  • You will participate in internal and external design reviews and as per the standard T/PM/G/35 & GD/PM/G/17
  • You will be responsible for Leading and delivering all the activities associated with the main specifications (T/PM/RE/18) and (T/SP/COMP/36)
  • You will be responsible for leading and coordinating a team of engineers and technicians through the testing and commissioning phase
  • Depending on size and complexity you may be testing and commissioning coordinator for one project, or for a portfolio of projects within the Gas business
  • Make independent decisions on issues, providing expert technical support within the project delivery team
  • You are responsible for leading and driving quality in all activities assigned to the testing and commissioning, including the checking and approval of discipline deliverables to company procedures

Your profile

If you have the following profile, then we are looking forward to meeting you

  • More than 5 years of experience as a Testing and Commissioning Coordinator, in multi-discipline projects, in an Engineering / EPCM / EPC company, in the Gas Transmission and/or Distribution sector
  • More than 5 years of experience managing a commissioning team in the Gas Transmission and/or Distribution sector
  • Deep knowledge of EC&I and Automation is preferred, but you also have a sound knowledge of the other disciplines (Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Piping and Process)
  • Deep knowledge of the Gas Transmission and Distribution standards and specifications for all disciplines, specifically focused around the compressor stations
  • MEng / BEng / HNC / HND in Engineering
  • Experience of delivering (T/PM/RE/18) and (T/SP/COMP/36)
  • Chartered or Incorporated Engineer (Preferred)
  • CDM Principal Contractor (Preferred)
  • Result oriented. You are only satisfied after your activities are accepted by the client, you delivered top quality and the client is very satisfied with the performance of you and your team
  • You plan and organise your activities before you allow your team to start spending hours.
  • You have a 'one time right' mentality
  • Sound understanding of the current British and European Standards
  • You delegate to your team, but at the same time you know exactly what is going on in your project, and intervene if required
  • You implement a solid change control procedure for your team, and you can convince the client of the budget and planning consequences of changes
  • You can lead and motivate your team so that they achieve the targets, also in case of setbacks
