Belcan Workforce Solutions is currently looking for a Systems Engineer to work for one of our clients based in West Midlands, UK.

This contract will require 5 days a week on site, must be able to commute to site facilities.


We are a leading institution focused on advancing electrical storage technologies and manufacturing processes. As part of our dedicated team, we are seeking a Systems Engineer to play a vital role in driving the integration of cutting-edge vision systems within our battery assembly and testing environment.

Leading the planning and execution of vision system programs, aligning with project objectives and setup requirements. You will design and implement robust vision systems for defect tracking, quality enhancement, and process optimisation and ensure the reliability, functionality, and maintenance.

You will be collaborating closely with internal and external design teams to validate the feasibility and cost-effectiveness of vision system solutions, utilising virtual builds and simulation tools. Leveraging your expertise in data acquisition equipment and software to drive process improvements and informed decision-making. Alongside utilising our in-house vision systems such as Keyence, Incore, and Isra to drive advancements in manufacturing processes. Continuously engage in refining and enhancing the functionality and performance of vision systems. Provide training and support to production staff for the operation and maintenance of vision systems. Stay informed about the latest trends and technologies in vision systems and battery manufacturing.

Experience Required

  • Exposure to data acquisition equipment and software.
  • Prior experience using Keyence, Incore, or Isra vision systems.
  • Familiarity with battery testing equipment and processes.
  • Previous exposure to battery materials and chemistry.
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing vision systems within a manufacturing environment, preferably in battery production.

Skills Required

  • Project management skills to lead vision system projects from inception to completion.
  • Proficiency in programming and configuring vision system software and hardware, including cameras, lighting, and image processing algorithms.
  • Solid understanding of industrial automation, and quality control methodologies.
  • Familiarity with simulation tools and data analysis tools.
  • Knowledge of battery manufacturing processes, including cell assembly, pack assembly, and quality control.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to producing accurate and high-quality results.
  • Self-motivated and adaptable to fast-paced, evolving manufacturing environments.
  • Willingness to stay updated on the latest advancements in vision systems and automation technologies.

Ideally you will have a bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field although Master's degree preferred.
