Belcan Workforce Solutions are currently looking for a Supplier Collaboration Engineer to work for our Off-Highway client based in Peterborough, Stafford or Shrewsbury.
This role will be a mixture of remote working and travel.

Our European Drive train Purchasing team is currently looking for a Supply Collaboration Engineer to be based in the UK, and working with our UK and mainland European suppliers. As a Supply Collaboration Engineer you are responsible for collaborating with our suppliers on cost and quality issues, other Purchasing team members and Engineers to ensure early supplier collaboration on design for manufacturability, assembly, and costs as well as adherence to APQP.

You will be required to collaborate with suppliers and internal members of the team on new part introduction including APQP conformance. This will help ensure the development, analysis, and documentation of cost information supporting new product development, design and cost improvement, maintenance, make versus buy, and other special projects. Obtaining quotations and implementing engineering changes on existing part numbers, whilst working closely with the Buyer and Supplier Development Engineer in terms of managing supplier activity. You will mediate trade off discussions early in the design process to balance performance, quality, velocity, and cost with focus on optimizing value. Ability to lead cross functional teams to meet multiple cost opportunity objectives, coaching, training, and developing team members. You know how to set priorities and allocates projects to team members efficiently.

Your background would ideally be a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science curriculum and 3-4 years of experience. Prior experience as a Supplier Quality Engineer or in Purchasing and requires an engineering, manufacturing, or commercial background with a thorough level of product knowledge.

You can show a deep understanding of manufacturing processes, manufacturing methods, application of existing manufacturing, engineering, and product knowledge

It would also be an advantage if you have knowledge (basic speaking and writing) of another European language other than English.

The ideal person will have 6 Sigma Black Belt experience, strong analytical and interpersonal skills and a strong technical background with experience in a manufacturing environment. Being able to perform cost breakdown analysis of a machined part and experience in Drive train design, manufacturing or procurement. The ability to see issues and forecast future costs so that costs are stable and predictable
