Rail Engineer - Infrastructure Projects (Drainage & Lineside Civil)

Belcan Workforce Solutions is recruiting for a Rail Engineer to support a high-priority infrastructure Programme within Scotland's rail sector. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Rail Engineer to contribute to nationally significant projects, applying expertise across drainage, geotechnical, and lineside civil engineering disciplines.
As a Rail Engineer, you will be responsible for managing the Drainage RAM workbank, investigating unrecorded infrastructure and assets with missing condition scores. You will lead the delivery of lineside civil engineering projects, including coordination and assurance of boundary wall programmes. Your role will involve conducting desk studies, risk assessments, and optioneering for high-risk flooding areas, contributing to climate change adaptation planning. Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders will be key to ensuring effective project delivery and reporting. Additionally, you will support CP8 planning and provide technical recommendations for constructible, cost-effective solutions.
Requirements
Essential:
- Proven experience in rail drainage, geotechnical, or lineside civil engineering.
- Strong background in project management, stakeholder coordination, and risk management.
- PTS (Personal Track Safety) certification or willingness to obtain promptly.
Desirable:
- Proficiency in InfoDrainage modelling.
- Familiarity with geo-RINM mapping/correction, condition data workflows, and drainage optioneering.
