Belcan are looking for an experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer to lead and support the design, integration, and delivery of electrical systems for Gas Turbine Packages and to support and mentor Graduates and colleagues. This role is based at the Belcan Office in Runcorn, on a Hybrid working model.
The Senior Electrical Design Engineer will lead the electrical design and integration of gas turbine packages, including control systems, power distribution, instrumentation, and auxiliary systems as well as being involved with other electrical projects. They will develop and review schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings using CAD tools. As well as specifying and selecting electrical components, including switchgear, caballing, sensors, and control panels.
Education and Experience
- Degree or HND in Electrical Engineering or experience in industrial electrical engineering, preferably in gas turbines, rotating equipment, or energy systems
- Power Systems: LV/MV switchgear
- Instrumentation: Selection and integration of pressure, temperature, flow, and vibration sensors
- Hazardous Area Design: ATEX or IECEx or NEC compliance.
- Integration of vendor packages
- Cable Engineering: Cable sizing, routing, and tray design for industrial applications
- Standards & Codes: IEC, NEC, IEEE, API 616/614, BS EN standards
- Documentation Tools: Microsoft Office Suite, engineering databases, and ERP systems
You must be eligible to obtain UK Security Clearance for this role
