Sitec - a Belcan company are currently looking to recruit a Senior Design Engineer for a nuclear MoD establishment in Reading. The post is an estimated 6-7 month contract initially with the possibility of being extended to the end of 2022 and is paying competitively on an hourly basis

You must hold current DV Clearance to apply for this position as the end customers projects are of an extremely high level of classification. Sitec can only accept applications from those resident in the UK for the last 10 years who hold a full British Passport. Unfortunately, dual nationals will not be considered for this role.

The position has been deemed Outside of IR35.

Provide designs for the Facility Design Authority (FDA) such that utilities, infrastructure, engineering processes, equipment and facilities are compliant with legislation, standards and requirements associated with engineering design throughout the facility lifecycle. This position is required to provide design compliance of a process gas system through manufacture, installation, commissioning and handover.

  • Design Engineer for Control & Instrumentation.
  • Good document writing skills - technical specifications, test and commissioning documents.
  • Good understanding of implementation of PLC/SCADA systems.
  • Good understanding of instrumentation for pressure systems.
  • Understanding of process gas systems.
  • Reviewing of design, technical manufacturing and quality documentation from suppliers to check for conformity to requirements.
  • Liaise with counterparts in France to specify and design C&I interfacing requirements.
  • Supporting the Lead Engineer (process) to ensure the successful handover of the system for beneficial use.
  • Member of the Test & Commissioning Panel representing Engineering.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to the commissioning team in France - requirement for travel.
  • Timely processing of Document Change Notes, Commissioning Reservations, Technical Queries and Design Certificates.
  • Work as part of a multi-disciplined team.
