Belcan Workforce Solutions is looking for a skilled and meticulous EPCM Project Planner to join our clients team, working on diverse projects with a key client in the Life Science / Chemical sector. This permanent position is based in Manchester and offers a hybrid working arrangement, requiring one day per week in the office.

Key Responsibilities

Schedule Development: Create and maintain detailed construction schedules using Primavera P6, ensuring they reflect the project scope, milestones, and deadlines.

Progress Tracking: Monitor and report on the progress of construction activities, identify potential delays, and propose corrective actions to keep the project on track.

Resource Planning: Coordinate with Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering, and Procurement teams to ensure efficient and effective allocation of resources (labour, materials, equipment).

Risk Management: Identify and assess potential risks to the project schedule, developing mitigation strategies to minimize impact.

Documentation: Maintain accurate records of project schedules, changes, and progress reports, ensuring all documentation is up-to-date and accessible to relevant stakeholders.

Site Visits: Conduct regular site tours to assess progress, verify schedule adherence, and address any on-site issues.

Continuous Improvement: Implement best practices in construction planning and scheduling, continuously seeking opportunities to improve processes and outcomes.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in field construction and engineering planning on EPCM projects within the pharma/chemicals industry (preferably in the process contracting industry).
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field preferred; relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Expert proficiency in project planning and scheduling using Primavera P6.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify potential schedule risks and develop effective mitigation strategies.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic, and demanding environment.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in project planning and scheduling.
