It provides naval architecture, marine, system engineering, electrical engineering design and project support services to the marine and defence markets worldwide. They have vast experience in engineering, construction, concept design and through life support for a wide range of front line naval and auxiliary support vessels.

As Principal Electrical Design Engineer, you will have the ability to plan, lead and control engineering processes and activities to ensure delivery to agreed programme and budget. You will ensure task and project risks are communicated and managed appropriately. As Engineering Lead for complex multi discipline tasks and projects, you will be capable of determining applicability of regulations and standards, and contributing to the development of regulatory and standards frameworks.

You will be responsible for modification, definition and implementation of business processes and local processes as required to meet the business needs. You will contribute/lead the Project Safety Assessment process, support the identification of business opportunities and lead the preparation of bids, in area(s) of expertise, to facilitate the development of successful bids. You will provide support to the Project Manager for the planning, control and delivery of packages of engineering work. Develop engineering approaches, tools and standards (in discipline) and ensure they are maintained.

You will be Technical Authority for complex multi discipline tasks and projects. You will produce, review and approve calculations, analyses, drawings, models, design basis documentation and technical reports, in accordance with project requirements.

What do I need to do the role?

Ideally, you will be Degree qualified but HND/HNC level qualification in an engineering discipline with extensive experience in the relevant field will be considered.

It would be beneficial if you have experience working on UK naval marine shipbuilding projects or defence related design experience but this is not essential.
