Belcan is recruiting for a Piping Mechanical Static Engineer on an 16 month Inside IR35 project in North Kent.
Working on a new project and upgrading existing parts on a Gas storage site.
The Piping / Mechanical Static Engineer is the project team's principal representative and discipline lead for the project. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the role is responsible for reviewing all aspects of the Contractor's design in relation to the discipline activities and for ensuring the interests of Customer are incorporated into the design.
Primary functions shall include, but not limited to:
* Ensuring technical adequacy of engineering and design consistent with economy, good engineering practice, safety in design and specific requirements of the project.
* Working with the relevant Project Delivery Managers in a professional and competent manner to comply with programme and cost constraints.
* Working together with the Contractor to establish a good working relationship and common goals.
* Ensuring that the Customer's requirements are clearly defined, understood and delivered.
* Understanding and effectively managing the Project Risks.
* Regularly audit the Contractor for compliance against specific Project requirements and deliverables and ensure that any remedial Action Plans are carried out.
* Ensure compliance with the prescribed company, project and other standards and local statutory regulations.
Be aware of the Safety, Health & Environmental (SHE) aspects of the work.
* Maintain effective interface with other groups and engineering disciplines to achieve project goals.
* Reviewing Contractor deliverables such as mechanical designs, equipment lists, line lists, specifications, data sheets, package equipment, static equipment, heat transfer equipment, drawings, stress analysis, etc.
Candidates must have ONC/HNC or similar and post qualification work experience.
Applicants must have Two years' experience working in any of the following environments:
* UK Gas or LNG Projects
* Oil & Gas Projects
* Petrochemical Projects
* LNG Production, Storage, Vaporisation, or Shipping
* Cryogenic Pipeline, Process or Gas Compression
* Top tier COMAH sites
