Belcan Workforce Solutions is currently looking for a Mechanical Development Engineer for a leading manufacturer of diesel engines based in Peterborough. This is a hybrid opportunity requiring a minimum of 3 days of onsite working per week.
This exciting opportunity sits within the Component Engineering team who are responsible for mechanical design and development of engine design for engines up to 7 litres which are used in a range of machine platforms.
As a Mechanical Development Engineer, you will be taking responsibility for the development activities of core engine components and systems designed by our client's Industrial Power Systems Division; components include in-cylinder, block/head, sealing systems, bolted joints bearing, geartrain, pumps, lubrication and cooling system componentry, and FEAD.
You should have experience in the execution of Core Engine System validation consisting of static and dynamic rigs, dyno and machine testing; conducting risk assessments through effective FMEA generation on components and systems to identify and address design risks; and you must be capable of understanding technical issues as they arise and execute root cause analysis through relevant tools, methods, data analysis, and testing to resolve issues.
It would be beneficial if you hold an HNC or technical degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering or similar, however other qualifications or experience will also be considered.
