The Opportunity

Belcan Workforce Solutions are seeking a motivated and experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join our Aerospace client's team in Prestwick, Ayrshire.

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a crucial role in defining and implementing the most efficient manufacturing system for our client's products and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

As the Manufacturing Engineer, your primary responsibilities will include translating design engineering data and specifications into clear work instructions for manufacturing, ensuring alignment with customer and regulatory requirements. You will configure manufacturing systems to integrate design, quality, and regulatory standards while optimizing machine requirements, layout, tooling, and inspection processes.

Additionally, you'll drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and quality, including waste elimination, production smoothing, and cycle time reduction. Your role involves providing engineering instructions related to rework, scrap, and non-conforming products, as well as implementing visible controls and business support systems for effective management and control.

Collaboration with operators, design teams, and regulatory authorities is essential to ensure product compliance and integrity. You'll also work towards achieving Approved Signatory status and provide engineering support to external stakeholders while assisting with audits and customer non-conformance resolutions.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • HNC level qualification or equivalent experience in a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 2 years relevant engineering experience in a Manufacturing Engineering environment.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interface effectively with customers and suppliers.
  • Knowledge of various manufacturing systems and proficiency in deploying Continuous Improvement Toolset (e.g., Seven Wastes).
  • Awareness of design methods, including 2D and 3D modelling.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
