Overview of the Role:

An opportunity has arose for an IT Applications Manager to work for Belcan International, supporting over 500 users in Europe and Asia to deliver growth and value to the Belcan brand. The IT Applications Manager role will be primarily based in the Belcan Derby office and will report directly to the Head of IT Service Delivery.

This is a new hands-on role, fully involved throughout service transition and into day-to-day delivery, and will be split 50/50 across Business as Usual (BAU) and Project / Enhancement work. The IT Applications Manager will involve mentoring a group of Application Consultants to ensure all Incidents and service requests are resolved / fulfilled / escalated promptly; adhering to stringent SLAs and KPIs; whilst also leading relations with the business to deliver enhancements and value from the applications.

As the business has recently implemented an ERP solution and a shared Finance Team, a functional understanding of and the ability to communicate finance processes is essential. Prior experience of Oracle Financials Fusion would be advantageous. Other Applications in the portfolio, which you will be responsible for, include Applicant Tracking Systems, Engineering Design Applications and additional Finance and Payroll services.

About You:

You must have a minimum of 24 months experience in managing an Application Support Team in either an internal or outsourced environment; and will possess the following capabilities:

  • Able to lead a team of Application Support professionals in providing an excellent and consistent support service to all staff.
  • Good team planning skills with proven ability to reprioritise appropriately
  • Ensure all SLA's are met and any that are not met are sufficiently managed through a quality process
  • Act as a technical point of escalation and guidance for all aspects of the IT applications release and support.
  • Accountable for all of the company's software applications, you will be responsible for the testing, release and support of applications.
  • Support delivery of the IT strategy to modernise the business application architecture including providing input to application/infrastructure scalability and security
  • Co-ordinating delivery of enhancements into releases, through collaboration with the business.
  • Possess strong Business Analysis and communications skills/abilities, both written and verbal, as you are expected to develop an in depth working knowledge of the core business applications
  • Preparing project plans (ideally using Prince 2 or agile methodology), to ensure that new applications are operationally ready and manage the full life cycle of applications from operational acceptance and through support and retirement.
  • Demonstrable understanding in Incident, Problem Management, Change Management and Release Management within an IT environment
  • ITIL certified (foundation level) is desirable
  • Working knowledge of SQL is desirable
  • Experience in supporting Oracle Fusion Financials is beneficial
  • Experience of managing a overseas / virtual team will be highly advantageous
  • Strong knowledge of communicating financial processes is essential.
