Fuel Systems Engineer
Location: Filton

Contract: 9 Months inside IR35
Pay rate: £57.50ph Umbrella or £42.98ph PAYE
Working schedule: 3 Days onsite per week
We are supporting a leading aerospace manufacturer in the recruitment of a Fuel Systems Engineer to join a highly skilled engineering development team. This is an excellent opportunity to work on commercial aircraft programmes, contributing to both new development activities and continued airworthiness for in‑service systems.
The Role
As a Fuel Systems Engineer, you will play a key role in the design, qualification, modification, and support of aircraft fuel systems. You will interface with suppliers, production teams, and in‑service organisations, ensuring technical compliance and system performance across the product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting equipment qualification activities, including review of supplier design updates and specification changes
- Providing production support, investigating test failures and driving improvement actions
- Contributing to system modifications, including variant, performance, and equipment changes
- Supporting in‑service investigations, including safety‑related items, Requests for Work (RFWs), and major in‑service issues
- Working in line with applicable airworthiness regulations and engineering standards
Skills & Experience Required
Essential:
- Background in Aviation or Aerospace Engineering
- Experience with aircraft system design or support
- Strong stakeholder communication skills across engineering, production, and suppliers
- Experience with real‑time system control
- Knowledge of MATLAB, Simulink, and Stateflow
Desirable:
- Experience with avionic fuel systems
- Exposure to project coordination or project management activities
