The Opportunity

Belcan Workforce Solutions are working with a major Space & Defence client based in Stevenage to find a Facilities Manager for their Projects team.

The Facilities Manager will oversee CAPEX projects, from inception to completion, ensuring compliance with internal protocols and our client's procedures. This role involves leading Multi-Functional Project Teams (MFTs) and managing design, specifications, and project delivery.

The Role

As the Facilities Manager, you will establish and manage Multi-Functional Project Teams, guiding them through intricate building service designs for various projects, including major plant replacements and refurbishments. You will maintain awareness of engineering services maintenance and operation, utilize industry-standard design software, and collaborate with clients, architects, and design team members.

The role also entails preparing comprehensive reports and specifications, fostering client relationships, and effectively managing project timelines and communication. Additionally, the Facilities Manager will monitor project progress, ensure technical compliance and health and safety adherence, develop project delivery plans, manage CAPEX business cases, and formulate detailed design briefs for building services.

About You

You should have previous Facilities Management experience in a Project Management role, with a demonstrated ability to manage Capital Investment Projects successfully. You should possess strong leadership and team management skills, along with qualifications in a relevant building engineering discipline.

Experience in overseeing building engineering services refurbishment projects and proficiency in mechanical and electrical systems across various sectors are essential. Previous consultancy experience and relevant professional memberships are also desired, along with excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Successful applicants will be required to be security screened and obtain a Basic disclosure certificate on appointment. The successful candidate must meet eligibility requirements for UK Security Clearance as you will also be required to apply for an SC clearance on commencement of the contract.
