Electronics Project Engineer
Belcan is excited to introduce the position of an Electronics Project Engineer to join our ever growing & collaborative engineering team based in Cheltenham. Are you able to plan and deliver the whole life cycle of projects, from concept design to manufacture, delivery of bespoke electronic equipment while working closely with the internal manufacturing & procurement teams on a variety of Client's projects as well as the Client themselves to ensure delivery of practical solutions?
What you can expect day to day:
You will design practical solutions, from concept to delivery, working with colleagues and the company's processes to understand customer needs to design the solutions. Ensure risk to the business is reduced through change management requirements, drawings, and project planning (plan and prepare designs for manufacture, work content quality and engineering processes) estimate costs and the duration of projects for customers quotations.
You would also be involved in contributing towards technical bid evaluations and proposals, while always adhering to internal quality processes.
Prepare and deliver clear, effective technical information to stakeholders and visit customer sites include installation support where required.
What we need from you:
Essential:
Electronics Engineering Degree or similar or equivalent experience.
Able to work with embedded devices - microcontrollers, FPGAs/SoCs and associated development processes & tools.
Experience of I/O mapping with a focus on PCB design, designing and re-spinning PSB schematics FPGA porting, PCB schematics and PCB layouts using Altium and Fusion 360 Eagle, controlling the board pins on either input side of the mapping to for noise suppression.
Desirable:
Produce drawings & documents sets to the required BS standard & our AS9100 accreditation.
Be able to confidently communicate clearly with customers, colleagues, managers, & suppliers if needed.
A good or efficient understanding of source & drawing revision control & use of PLM systems in this endeavour.
Engineering change control documentation experience preferable.
Understand PCBA manufacturing & equipment testing (medical instruments a bonus).
