Design Engineers
Belcan has a vacancy for a number of experienced Design Engineers to join our in-house Gas Turbine Propulsion Engineering team based across Derby and Glasgow. The role will be to provide engineering support to a worldwide Aerospace sector with focussed support to OEMs in the provision of Gas Turbine powerplant.
The Design Engineers will get involved in a number of different projects including:
- Rig design for Rotating components (HPC drums etc.)
- Turbine Rig design
- Cost Reduction and Design for Manufacture on Turbine annulus components
- HPC and HPT Disc Design
- Full life cycle design - Prelim design, through PDR, CDR and through to incorporation.
It is expected that the candidates will be comfortable working in an Engineering Services environment and will be able to balance the technical challenges of the task with the commercial and project timescale associated with delivery.
Must Have Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Experiences to be considered:
- Degree Qualified in an Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering related subject
- Mechanical design experience of Gas Turbines, Rotating Equipment or another safety critical environment.
- CAD Modelling capability
- CAD experience in either NX or similar 3D system
