Belcan is seeking Control Systems Engineers to work on a new UK Infrastructure upgrade. Permanent positions working from our Cheltenham site-GL51.

You will be required to work on a flagship SCADA programme within the energy and utilities sector, whilst supporting our current Engineering team.

5 days a week combining time in our Cheltenham office along with site visits throughout the UK for commissioning.

You will be responsible for the systems integration and software development of PLC/HMI/SCADA systems from concept and take through to commissioning at site. Able to conduct site surveys and carry out reverse engineering to support SCADA/HMI replacement and conversion projects.

Creation of specifications such as User Requirements, Functional Design, Software Design and Testing procedures. Hands on experience in setting up and programming Rockwell PLC systems, Wonderware and/or Ignition SCADA packages.

Developing SCADA screens and topic configuration to communicate with the PLC systems. Design and implement test setup to support testing. Support FAT, Commissioning, and SAT Tests.

Ideally you will have a controls, mechatronics, electrical/electronic or software related qualification.

Competence in programming PLCs preferably with Rockwell platform and Ignition/Wonderware SCADA packages.

Ability to take ownership of reverse engineering projects with an attention to detail.

Client interface especially during FAT/SAT

A desire to learn and expand skills in one or more of the following areas: Linux, VMware, Docker Container, Firewall Configuration, Python and develop good appreciation for Cyber Security in OT environment.
