Location: Filton (Hybrid - approx. 60% onsite)

About the Role

Our Client is seeking a skilled Aerostructure Cost Engineer to join their Cost Engineering team, supporting current and future aircraft programmes through Design-to-Cost initiatives. This role is pivotal in ensuring competitive costing targets and providing independent, data-driven insights for manufacturing and procurement decisions.

You will work on estimating Recurring (RC) and Non-Recurring Costs (NRC) for major programmes, including A220, Single Aisle, and A350, using advanced digital costing tools and models. The position involves close collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, and supplier teams to drive cost-effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce RC and NRC estimates for Design-to-Cost projects.
  • Support cost modelling for composite manufacturing processes.
  • Participate in Design-to-Cost workshops and provide recommendations.
  • Analyse work package estimates and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Lead cost engineering discussions with suppliers.
  • Ensure quality, reliability, and neutrality of costing procedures.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Degree in Engineering or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong background in manufacturing and/or engineering.
  • Knowledge of composite, metallic, machined, and fabricated part processes.
  • Experience in Design-to-Cost methodology.
  • Excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills.
  • Strong communication and influencing abilities.
