Due to increased growth, Belcan are looking for Design Engineers to be based at our Bristol facility to join our Aerospace team. The Design Engineer should have a strong background in aerospace or other relevant fields. They will help assist in delivering solutions to various customers and provide a good technical guidance in vehicle integration. They will have a passion to help drive forward innovative ideas and follow them through to implementation, whilst continually maintaining quality and service requirements.
The role has a strong focus on engineering delivery and quality.
Responsibilities
- Design of components and parts
- Build and manage complex 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings
- Creating design layouts for design solutions
- Accountability for cradle to grave ownership of a product or design
- Vehicle integration work
- Obtain and implement specifications accurately and effectively.
- Produce, where required, engineering evidence to back detail design decisions in the form of technical reports, specifications and studies
- Clear evidence of personal tracking of own quality and cost performance
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree Qualified in Aerospace Engineering or related discipline.
- Must be proficient in the use of 3D CAD packages such as CATIA, Solidworks etc
- Appreciates and can articulate the value of the engineering lifecycle and the relationship to the Lifecycle Management Process. Support and participate in technical reviews to ensure product viability.
- Understand the importance of Health and Safety requirements and can articulate the need to ensure that the product is acceptably safe and that product and system safety assessments form part of the design process.
- Experience in vehicle integration is preferred but not essential, a good sound mechanical engineering background is key to the success of this role.
